Adventures

Adventures are a way of cataloging geographic and sighting data into a single historical route. After completing an Adventure, your Bird-Boy device will compile all its collected data over the course of your Adventure into a historical log which can then be shared or exported.

Starting an Adventure

To begin an Adventure, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Menu button on your device. The device menu opens.
  2. Select Adventures > Start New Adventure. The New Adventure menu opens.
  3. Configure any optional settings on the Start New Adventure window before you begin.
  4. Select Start. The date, time, and your geographic data will be indexed as soon as the Adventure begins.

Using Existing Routes

Existing Routes are predefined pathways from geographic data sourced from a previous Adventure. If you select Use an Existing Route on the New Adventure menu, you can select a previous Adventure from your Database, which will then provide a visual indication of that route when using the Maps mode during your Adventure.

Data Collected During Adventures

During your Adventure, the Bird-Boy collects and stores the following data into a log. This log is able to be accessed anytime after your Adventure is completed:

  • Date, time, and geographic location. This includes the dates and times the Adventure began and was completed, as well as the total distance traveled during the Adventure.
  • All Discoveries: The Adventure will adds all Discoveries made into the log.
  • Audio and video: Photographs and audio recordings taken during the Adventure can be optionally added to the log.
