Microphone
The Bird-Boy's built-in microphone allows for auditory notetaking and audio samples of wildlife. Audio files can directly be attached to entries in your Database including species, landmarks, and Adventures.
Using the Microphone
Open the Microphone app from the Device Menu. The Microphone app displays three key elements:
- A wave form which responds to the volume of audio input
- A timer showing the duration of the current recording
- Four button toggles: Start, Stop, and Del.
Begin a recording by selecting Start. You can either stop the recording by selecting Stop, or discard the recording by selecting Del. After stopping a recording, you have the option to discard the recording with Del, or start a new recording with Start (the existing recording will be saved to your Database).
You can adjust the volume of your Bird-Boy by using the volume buttons on the left side of the device.
Audio files are automatically saved to your Database for access later.
If you try exiting the Microphone app after taking at least one recording while on an active Adventure, you will receive an additional prompt asking to save any recording(s) to your Adventure log. Select Yes or No accordingly.
File Specifications
